Introduction to the Drop Shot

Explanation:
A drop shot is an advanced shot (executed with either the forehand or the backhand). The goal of this shot is to get the ball to land just over the net and out of the opponents reach. The drop shot usually has backspin or no spin at all.

Tips and suggestions:

  1. Drop shots are easiest when you are close to the net. Hitting from the baseline can be difficult and is a low percentage shot
  2. Let the location of your opponent determine when to hit a drop shot. Don’t hit a drop shot if your opponent is in a good position on the court.
  3. Follow your drop shot into the net. Be ready for when your opponent returns the drop shot.

Excellent on when to use it, but nothing on how to use it, which I feel is more important.
