As a wife, a mother, and a business owner, Marcy Rubinstein has the court covered. For over 12 years, Marcy has owned and operated Marcy’s Tennis Academy, LLC. As an Organizational Member of the USTA, the academy recruits and teaches tennis to elementary and middle school students in unique before & after-school tennis programs. The academy teaches tennis over 2000 students a year in the State of Connecticut.
Marcy’s tennis honors include receiving in August 1999 the Pilot Pen Tennis Mom of the Year Award. In November 1998, she was honored with USA Tennis/New England Division Volunteer of the Month. She is a PTR Foundation Margo Winter Grant Award recipient. In December 2001, the academy was honored with the 2001 Community Tennis Association of the Year from USTA New England and was honored with the 2002 USTA/PTR Community Service Award. At the 2002 USPTA World Conference on Tennis in Las Vegas, Marcy won the National Seminar Contest. She presented at the 2003 USTA Tennis Teachers Conference in New York City. She has presented at several tennis conferences for the USPTA on the national and local levels. Marcy serves on the Board of the USTA Connecticut State Association. Marcy is certified with the PTR and the USPTA and serves on the USTA/New England Board of Directors as a Delegate-at-Large. Marcy also serves on the Board as Secretary and currently Treasurer-elect of USPTA New England.
Marcy lives in Trumbull, CT with her husband, Jay, and their 2 sons, Joshua and Jesse who are USTA NE sectional ranked tennis players. The Rubinstein Family attends the Pilot Pen Tennis Tournament, New Haven, CT and the US Open year after year. Joshua and Marcy won the Mother/Child Pilot Pen New England Family Classic in the 14u in the summer of 2006. In the summer of 2007, Marcy and Joshua again were finalists in the 14u Mother/Child category along with Jay and Jesse in the 11u Father/Child division. USTA NE honored the Rubinstein Family as the 2006 USTA NE Family of the Year.
